Campus Mail Services FedEx Account Discontinued

  • As a result of discussions with FedEx account representatives to achieve more accurate billings and better control of the main Mail Services FedEx account (number ending in 2764), this account will be shut down within the month and no longer available for use. This account is currently used by several departments around campus. The account will not be immediately terminated since impacted departments are now required to have their own department FedEx accounts, and all new accounts take approximately seven days to become active.

What does this mean for your future FedEx processing?

  • If you have an established departmental account with FedEx, no changes will occur for you.  Continue to use your own departmental account as usual.
  • If you use the account xxxxx2764 for your processing, you will need to establish a new departmental account as soon as possible. This can be done by contacting Skylar Wendel at 2-7831. When FedEx discontinues account xxxxx2764 within the next few weeks, your department will be unable to ship via FedEx until an account is established and active unless you send it to the mailroom for processing.
  • If preprinted paper airbills are in your possession with this account (xxxxx2764), you should discontinue using them, and destroy them as soon as your new departmental account is established
  • Mail Services will work with FedEx to open a separate new campus account. This account will be highly secured, and will only be used at Mail Services home site at 1100 N 17th. Campus departments can still have pieces processed with this new account, but these pieces will be processed in Mail Services home site and only Mail Services department personnel will issue account-bearing labels.
